Living Evidence Library

Situation

One of our clients was struggling with synthesizing evidence across therapeutic teams. The teams were doing duplicative research on the same molecule for different indications, which was quickly rendered out of date. They needed a single location to store all their published, sponsored, and external evidence that could be easily accessed and regularly updated.

Strategy

HCG took an innovative approach to solving our client’s evidence management problem using an AI platform designed for systematic literature reviews. We worked with our client to align on their evidence synthesis needs and outline their therapeutic focus area. We then screened 980 articles and tagged 236 articles to capture the current evidence. This process mimicked that of a targeted literature review of specific population characteristics, interventions, comparators, and outcomes of specific interest. A microsite was created for the client to easily access current and future therapeutic evidence libraries.

Results/Outcome

The Living Evidence Library now gives the client the ability to adjust as new evidence flows in, with actionable insights in an interactive, web-based visual dashboard. HCG optimized the evidence, and the platform provides access to qualitative and quantitative results. This solution saved the client time, money, and resources and helped to improve collaboration among their teams across therapeutic areas.
